Host a Screening

We have had an incredible response to screenings and the film will be being shown in around 150 community venues around the UK in 2024.

Do check for screenings near you before you register your event below.

If you are a cinema or theatre and require the film in DCP format you can register here >>>

Non-cinematic screening - community or business

Please consider the following before registering an event:

  • Check for screenings near you before you register your event below. Six Inches of Soil cannot be held responsible for any conflicting screenings at similar times in the same geographical area.

  • Projection equipment - to screen the film we recommend a minimum of:
    - HD (1080p) projection + at least 72” TV screen + separate stereo sound system

  • Screening environment – if there is ambient light, you will need to make the room as dark as possible and ensure no reflection or sun across the screen. Also ensure there are no background noises that distract from the film’s audio

  • Adequate seating and access for people with disabilities

We encourage you to consider the following when hosting your event:

  • a panel discussion/Q&A around the topics covered - an opportunity for local farmers or producers to link up with their community

  • where possible, locally sourced and regeneratively/organic produced food and drink for audiences (not necessarily a full meal)

We are using the global film platform Kinema to deliver the film to you for your event. Kinema is particularly adept at supporting independent films and community screenings across the world and is the perfect fit for Six Inches of Soil.

To register your event, please follow these steps:

  1. Register your details and the event details via the button below - it is a straight forward process and there are instructions to get you there – start by clicking on ‘For Hosts’ at top left of screen

  2. You will have an option to either

    a. choose to sell tickets through Kinema which is well set up for events and would automatically split the sales 45%/ 45%/ 10% between you/ us/ Kinema without an upfront fee, this will also mean your event shows up on Kinema listings which will help with promotion

    b. pay a one off licence fee (note: if you are not using Kinema to sell tickets, make sure your event settings are set to private rather than public)

  3. We will add your event details to the screening dates on our website unless it is a closed event

  4. An event guide, poster, template press release and more materials are available on Kinema for you to use for publicity. We have also included our ‘Act Now!’ flier and ask that you consider printing it at as high a quality as you can to put on seats for your audience

  5. Once registered and paid for, the film will be available for you to download within Kinema at least 72 hours before your event so that you can test it
